TAMBO AND THE SPITFIRES

A very busy evening for Live at the Eagle tonight with a whole new host of musicians and audience. Tonight included Doug Graham, a talented guitarist from Kilbirnie and equally talented bassit Stephen McLean from Ayr. With such a giant audience, the vocal talent that participated tonight was on a scale never seen before at this event. A young band from the Irvine valley named 'Fat kids Don't Bounce' (nicely named) turned up and played a new collection of songs and barmaid Lindsey Cunningham joined in to sing 'Doctor Doctor' by UFO.

A fairly quiet night for Live at the Eagle- a striking contrast to last weeks turn-out but nonetheless a worthwhile visit. Tambo and the Spitfires started later on in the evening and set the tone for what was to be a very comfortable and relaxing night. Tonight saw some young talent take to the stage and played along with the houseband. The rest of the evening was accompanied by improvised instrumental music where Tambo (from Tambo and the Spitfires) remained onstage and filled the night with singing and harmonica solos.

Tonight, the thunder was stolen from Live at the Eagle. Slash, Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators were playing at the SSE Hydro, Glasgow resulting in a very limited turn-out of musicians and audience members. Nevertheless the show went on. The house band, Tambo and the Spitfires, remained on stage throughout playing an acoustic set to the somewhat minute audience. We are hoping that by next week our regular participants have overcome being star-struck and will be able to resume our popular weekly event.
